Opportunities between Chile and the USA

Hello Chile! I am looking forward to being in Chile again soon, and will quite literally, be there within 12 hours. As I write, I am in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. I am looking forward to this trip, for the opportunities to get to participate with you in the conversation of Atina Chile, and creating new worlds between my home town of Austin, Texas, and Santiago de Chile. Let me give some context for my trip. There has been a lot of recent press about the world being flat. In fact there is a book that has recently been published called The World is Flat. There have been many different reviews of this book. Suffice it to say that this book is about globalization, and how all of our worlds are getting more connected than ever before, with the advances in telecommuncations, connections through the Internet, and the outsourcing and offshoring of knowledge work. Friedman writes in his book about how China and India are getting the bulk of the United States offshoring work- but the phenomena is happening all around the world. In fact, as a personal example, earlier today, I had conversations with my software development staff in Russia, a graphic artist in Mexico, a customer in another part of the United States, and friends and customers in Chile. (In fact, for my company Enterprise Teaming we have offshored/outsourced development to the US, Mexico, Chile, Russia, Ukraine. It is with this "round the world" effort that my company, through bootstrapping (starting a business without outside investment) has been able to move very far, very fast. It is for this opportunity to work in this flat world together that I am traveling to Chile... to strengthen connections that I have made previously, and create new ones as well. As well, I am going to be connecting several other businesses in the Bootstrap Austin (a group of 360 entrepreneurs in Austin) with other businesses in Chile as well. I will be in Santiago from July 3, till July 10th. Although I have several meetings set up, if you are interested in meeting and creating new opportunities together, please send me a note through the atinachile.cl site to my mailbox. Late in the week I will be making arrangements to have an informal meeting to discuss opportunities. Saludos! Kevin Koym

dijo : Conections are the key, Big & small are a must, ie: CHina&CHile what a contrast & how close they are (1st ever FTA for China ongoning). We live & work in USA the 70's & 80's (Eng & Marketing) now we are international translators/interpreters in Chile & studying Chinese) We also provided room & board & jobs for hundreds of US interns that came since 1995 & are Staying in Chile now (Why?). Proposed IDEA to discuss: 1.- Adapt H. Ford's Assembly Line production system to develop projects on line (just CPM & GO).- 2.- Implement new complementary natural dialectic (quantum evolution at work) to stimulate work & productive relations on line abolishing the nefast one sided Anglo/USA positivism to offer alternatives. (Marcuse: One Dimensional Men - 60's) No time to meet in person but plenty of time on the net. Enjoy our differences, looking forward to meet you on the net! Rodolfo
